A trip to Belgium first made Thom think about what beer really is and how it is perceived in the UK. This inspired him to change his career and join the brewing industry in a sales job in 2008, and ten years later he now trains other people in beer ingredients, tasting and food matching. His enthusiasm for Belgian beers still remains, but there is a whole world of beer to explore so Thom often travels to other countries to visit breweries, festivals and bars, writing about these beer experiences along the way.
Thom’s aim is to help elevate beer’s status in the eyes of the general public and dispel the many myths about it. The future is very exciting for beer and he is looking forward to discovering many more interesting things to write about.
